Mike and Nancy discovered the property in the southern section of the Sonoma Coast more than a decade ago, when it was empty land with promising soils and an ideal marine climate for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. They built the estate property from the ground up collaborating with Andrew Avellar's vineyard expertise and Kenneth Juhasz's winemaking knowledge cultivating the natural sensibility to create balance and structured wines from the estate.
Wine had fascinated Ken and Debbie for many years before they decided to answer the call. During their search for a wine country place of their own, they met Mike and Nancy — and immediately resonated with the Attune estate and mission. Ken’s background in high technology brings scientific energy to the venture that has calibrated the project in unexpected ways.
Between harvests in Willamette Valley and New Zealand, Kenneth's pursuit for classic Pinot Noir ultimately landed him in Sonoma as the winemaker for The Donum Estate and his own brand, Auteur. Kenneth’s thoughtful and deliberate winemaking style achieves the ultimate goal of Attune wines to honor the harmony and balance of the land and all the hands involved in their creation.
Born and raised in California, Michelle’s extensive knowledge was rooted early on with her parent’s passion for world-class wines. Michelle watched the Sonoma estate property grow and flourish from its inception. Her expertise in hospitality and sales brings a welcoming blend of friendliness with her ongoing desire to share the family wines from her backyard.
For David, breaking bread with friends and family is the most important thing we can do in life — and one of its greatest joys. He met the Attune partners through their shared love of good food, world-class wine, and the hard work necessary to achieve it.
